The Bottom Line: Despite your thoughts on Miss Spears, I recommend you put that aside and try this scent!
So I figured, I had written a review on Britney Spears' other Fantasy perfume that I might as well just suck it up and write about the original. As previously stated I don't promote Britney Spears or her doings as of lately, I really have to admit that her perfume is a guilty pleasure. Despite the train wreck of her life as of recently, I'll have to admit she has a keen business sense and a nose for good perfume! I don't really know how much say she really has in this product other then the endorsement and I would probably buy the product without her name attached to it.
This is the tagline if you will to promote the perfume is that, "Everyone has one!"
"Fantasy" was created by Jim Krivda (not that I know who that is but I found it under information for the perfume). So we know Britney isn't sitting in a lab somewhere creating this, she's merely attaching her name to it.
Fantasy comes to you beautifully packaged in a vibrant paisley type box. Nestled inside is the bottle, which itself is quite beautiful. Truly a display piece, not just a glass bottle with no pizzazz to it. The bottle is round and fuchsia in color with green gems all around it, the neck of the bottle has a "necklace" of green gems with a round top in the same fuchsia. Yes, I admit I save the empty bottles because they are so pretty. I even have not parted with their original packaging.
Scent is so hard and subjective to describe in writing. It's a strong yet sweet smelling doesn't have that overpowering alcohol laced perfume smell to it.
The notes are red lychee, golden quince, kiwi, cupcake accord, jasmine petals, white chocolate orchid, musk, orris root and sensual woods.
As I stated in my other review of Midnight Fantasy, I am not a florally girl. I don't really like walking around smelling like a funeral parlor, florals do nothing for me. Even though they are contained in this perfume I really do not smell them. And if they are there they are very subtle. If anything the musk notes and the fruit smells come out in this scent.
Similarly to the other Britney Perfumes that I covet, anytime I wear this perfume I receive compliments everywhere I go. People are always asking what is that scent you are wearing or that they have never smelled anything so nice before. I almost have a twinge of should I tell them or not. But I always do on the sly. "It's Fantasy, by Britney Spears." Usually I met with shock and surprise that something she promotes can smell so lovely!
A few spritzes in the morning will usually last throughout the day. It tends to stay in your clothing and throughout your daily activities you'll get a sweet whiff of the perfume without a need to reapply. The lasting power is phenomenal on this product! If anything this perfume is very feminine! Will keep you wanting to spray more and having others come up to smell you because it is so captivating. The larger bottle will last a very long time depending how generous you are with the sprays, my first bottle lasted almost a year. So it is well worth the price.
The perfume is produced by Elizabeth Arden, so pretty much any store that carries Elizabeth Arden products should carry it. Now it has more or less mainstreamed and I have seen it available at many stores. It runs the gammet from CVS, Wal-Mart, Kohl's, to Macy's, and Sephora. So it is widely available to sample and purchase. I have even purchased it at my local Marshall's for quite the discount!
My boyfriend actually purchased the 3.4 oz bottle for me for a gift, after I had sampled it on a shopping trip. I was a little ashamed to be purchasing her products, now I just don't care. I hold my head high and purchase my items! The 3.4 oz bottle retails for about $50.
