Author's Review
So I Audio Osmosis is an MCAT preparation CD that gives you alot of insight on the MCAT and is actually not really boring to listen to and makes a great companion while on long drives to work or walks through campus. Actually, it is perfect for the walk to class every day because I imagine that any college student gets at least 1 hour of walking a day in, so this would be perfect to listen to.
The package comes with 12 cd's with about 40 tracks on each cd, each track containing about a 2-4 minute lesson on a certain topic. The voice actors are really good and I can understand them really easily. Although many other people say that the cheesy sound effects are annoying, they really do help you remember the lesson and make the listening way more enjoyable that it would have been.
The content is suparb and goes over just about every topic in the MCAT, spanning from physics to chem to english. Along the way they give you really helpful hints about the MCAT which I haven't heard before, like on the mcat, if a physics problem seems too complicated, it probably is. MCAT tests simple physics concepts and all the math can be easily done in your head. This was really fascinating for me, and when they go through example problems, they do all of the calculations in their head which really speeds things up. This proves to be an invaluable exercise which strengthens your computational skills.
Although this in no way goes to the depth that you require for the MCAT, it is really good review for the times when you are unable to read, such as walking, driving, shopping, etc. Even if you space out during the lecture you can easily catch up and understand what they are talking about.
A true review book is essential for excellence on the MCAT, but this does make a good companion.
