Emerilware fryer by T-fal

This is a wonderful fryer that does everything described. My only comment is that of a safety concern for people relying on the temperature indicators. There are four temperatures you may select; 320; 338; 356; and 374. When I selected 374 degrees, the actual temperature on my deep fat thermometer read 425 degrees! this is approaching or surpasses the flash point on some oils. The following list will provide you with the flash point of each type of oil:

Corn oil 410
Olive oil 410
Sesame oil 410
Sunflower 390

Canola 435
Grape seed 445
Soybean 450
Safflower 450
Peanut 450


Again, this is a great fryer but trusting the temperature indicator could be a dangerous assumption if you are not careful with the type of oil you use.
