Do not buy - JUNK!

After our old 54-bottle wine fridge died after several years of use, we were shopping around for a replacement. We came across these two-zone Edgestar units and they seemed like a great option. We bought two of these units since that was cheaper than buying a single, larger wine fridge. Edgestar also claimed low noise, low vibration and low power consumption. We were quite pleased with the way the units looked and the light weight. One issue we ran across right away was that we had to leave so much space around the fridges that they took up quite a bit of space. The suggested few inches were not sufficient as the units wouldn't cool to the set temprature. Then, we noticed our electricity bills going up and upon looking at the power consumption specs on this model, we realized that this particular model consumes twice the power (130 W) as other Edgestar models. The fans are also quite loud. We were really regretting having bought two of these units!

These were disappointing problems, but the real problems occured more recently. One unit stopped cooling in one section in about 5 months. The second unit died weeks after that. We saw that there were recent reviews citing the same reliability problem. One reviewer even got parts and fixed his unit twice, with the unit breaking again in a couple months. Based on that and other reviewers who have tried to fix these unsuccessfully, we're just going to cut our losses and throw these out. We're moving to an apartment with a built-in wine fridge, so at least we have a replacement already lined up.
