Worth every penny. I will never own another brand again.
Pros:
works great on pet hair, easy to maneuver, lightweight as vacuums go
Cons:
price, but WELL worth it. Hose can take getting used to.
The Bottom Line:
Well worth the money, it is easy to use and works great on pet hair.

Author's Review
I bought this machine for our new home and carpet. We have a golden retriever so pet hair control is very important. It was hard to spend the amount of money all at once- though I have spent as much on vacuums over the past ten years- but it was worth every single red cent I paid for it.
This vacuum attacks pet hair with a vengeance. And sand, too, I couldnt believe how much sand was in our two-week old carpet! It is easy to maneuver (that ball is ingenious) and if you remember to turn it with your wrist like you are opening a doorknob itll turn on a dime. The hose is ridiculously long (not sure exactly where the reviewer who complained it was too short was trying to use it?!?) It is not too heavy and easy to carry around- just make sure you carry it by the carrying handle, not the vacuum handle. The attachments store right on the machine- but not the extra attachments
the upholstery and low clearance things- you will need a basket or shelf to store those on.
The wand is a little tricky, it is actually the handle to the vacuum (which is why you dont carry it by that, it could come out while you are carrying it). And I am forever trying to return it in backwards because it looks like that is how it goes in. There is also a little tab that sticks out and it gets caught on that when retracting- that is my biggest complaint. And, if that is all I can complain about, I think thats pretty good.
Emptying the canister, especially after my last vacuum, is a DREAM. Put it over your garbage can and push a button. The bottom opens and everything falls out into the can. There is little dust created, but if you have allergies, it is very easy to place the canister into a plastic shopping bag to empty it. Holding the bag closed at the handle of the canister, press the button from outside the bag and empty into the bag. Let it settle a bit before removing the canister from the bag. Easy!
I do not find it too noisy at all. That was one complaint I did read on the Dyson before I purchased it, but I was pleasantly surprised
I dont think it is that loud. I used my old vacuum to clean up drywall dust and had a side by side comparison
it was at least twice as loud as the Dyson.
Yes, it is a lot to spend upfront on a vacuum, but it is definitely worth it.
