Upbeat, teaches you to let loose and enjoy life!

Whoever gave this movie two, or even just three stars, can come over to my place and get beaten over the head with a fying pan about 18 times. Duets defines the so-called feel-good movie. When you're watching some of the Karioke scenes, you'll want to jump up and dance in your living room, thats how much fun this movie is to watch.

Duets is about six people who find themselves through singing at Karioke bars. As fate would have it, each of the characters meet by the end of the movie at the World Karioke Championships. One man goes all the way because he's running from the law, another because he's run away from the life he once lived with his family. No matter what the reason, by the end of the film, all of the characters find their worth to society, living better lives from that point on.

Gwyneth Platrow, Huey Lewis and the rest of this stellar cast deliver some of the best performances i've seen in a comedy. Not only do they add comedy to the film, but they also touched me at a personal level because I could easily relate to alot of the characters as they were going through their long, tiring journey in the course of their lives.

The soundtrack for this film is brilliant, with a good mix of blues, rock, Country and even some Jazz. Since its Karioke, they left out all rap totally, which I loved since rap is not one of my personal favorites. The song "Cruisin" by the Miracles is sung amazingly by Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow at the end of the film in Duet style. I have to say that when I hear it, the song gave me chills. This complimented a song sung earlier in the film by Gwyneth Paltrow called "Bette Davis Eyes", which was the first time that I heard this song. Ms. Paltrow has an amazing voice, another great aspect of this movie.

Some people, in other reviews, are talking about how the plot stinks and such, but let me tell you, the plot is just fine. I understood it crystal clear, and it was original to say the least. It wasnt like some of those stupid, cheesy films that are coming out now adays like "Jurrassic Park 3" or "Planet of the Apes", two of the worst movies ever made. "Duets" has this Original plot that I was excited to have experienced since they haven't been coming along for quite awhile now.

When "Duets" has ended, and the credits begin to roll, you will turn to your loved one or family memeber and say, "Good Movie", because that is what "Duets" is. A Directors attempt to make the viewer feel-good. This is a film you will want to watch again and again for its music, performances and story-line. Go rent or buy this film, its a good movie to add to any movie lovers collection.
