A masterpiece

In this book, Written by Anne Mccaffrey, Dragons are protectors of a planet called Pern. No they are not creatures of myth they are animals that have been on the planet for who knows how long. Every 200 years deadly spores called threads rain down on Pern from a demonic red star. They come searching out any living thing to devour. Thus the dragons burn the spores out of the sky to protect this planet from extinction. This book is about one woman trying to reclaim her birthright and in the process become a dragon rider. This all happens before and during the spores deadly decent.

I couldn't believe how well written this book was until I actually started to read it. The characters are very deep and give you a feel of what it’s really like to be on the planet of Pern. The plot is very deep with not only the large plot, Save Pern from the threads, but with smaller ones that play a part in the book. All in all This classic book is a must read for all who enjoy fantasy books of all kinds.
