Poop!

I am going to love writing this review so much because the rest of America very much HATED The Cat In The Hat, a dazzling adventure out of reality and into the heart of childhood... And I... absolutely... *loved* it.

Then again, I am an unusual specimen, turned off by America's beloved movies like "Not Another Teen Movie" and "The Perfect Storm" (Possibly the worst movie ever made) and am frequently titillated by things that get under her skin.

The Cat In The Hat is one of those things. It is so exuberant and obnoxious that snobs everywhere will turn their noses up to it, dismiss it as ridiculous or find fault in everything that is magical and manifest of pure imagination.

Of course, the truth is that the movie IS ridiculous! It's so ridiculous I want to poop! It is oozing with silliness, sassiness, and Suessiness! Though I must admit I find some of the adult humor a little inappropriate for children, the overall film is an incredibly fun ride. They even take a moment to plug an ad for Unviersal Studios' Cat In The Hat Ride!

This movie has everything I ever dreamed of as a child, including using a Korean woman as a toboggan, turning your parents' material objects into alternate realities and inflicting painful humiliation on evil people. Mike Meyers is a joy on screen, acting most of the time like a giant homosexual cat-drag queen! Chances are, your children will laugh and be swept up by the characters, the fun and the complete abandonment of reality.
