Hmmm, Dejavu on some Austin Powers voices!

Whilst I had to drag my husband kicking and screaming to The Cat in the Hat and wait in line with hundreds of small children, I thought about my books when I was a child. I only remember Dr. Seuss.

I loved those books and I wanted to see if the movie lived up to what I remembered.

Reluctantly, we went into the theater. We knew if the movie had Mike Myers in it, that it would be funny.

To my surprise and that of my cynical husband as well, we found Mike Meyers as the seemingly mischeivious Cat in the Hat to be surreal at first, but as the movie went on we noticed many similarities in the voices and gestures he performed in this movie when compared to the Austin Powers films. For instance, if you listen you can hear Austin Powers, Fat Bastard, and Dr. Evil in this movie.

We are both huge fans of the latest Austin Powers movie "Goldmember" and laughed to ourselves when we heard the voices we recognized.

There were also several adult jokes thrown in for the extra educated child or maybe they were for us... I don't really know but we found the movie to be well worth our time waiting in line and the money we spend was well worth it.

While the film does drag a bit in some places and you begin to get annoyed with the cat and "things" the movie quickly rights itself and it is all worthwhile when everything comes out in the wash at the end.
