Great Truck For A Great Price

We purchased our 06 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab in Jan 07 and received 11,500 off of the sticker price. It was one of only a few left so it didn't have all of the features we originally wanted but had all of the major ones we needed. It's a 4.7L Magnum 2WD Quad Cab with an Automatic, A/C & Cruise.

The first pleasant thing I noticed was how well it rode & drove. It rides smoothly and quietly 90% of the time. The only time that the ride gets noticeably choppy is on really rough roads- otherwise it's a very comfortable ride. We've already taken it on a few long trips - one was 6 hours each way - not too many aches & pains. One negative is foot room for the rear passengers - for some reason there is no room under the front seats for your feet - which makes it a bit cramped.

It handles well for a pick-up and is fairly easy to park (even for someone like myself whose always driven small cars).

Fuel mileage is what you would expect - it will get the EPA rating of 20mpg on the highway if you drive a constant 60-65mph. But if you push it up to the 75-80 range that is the norm for our area then it drops dramatically to 15-17mpg. Our truck just turned over 3,000 miles and I've heard that mileage should continue to improve a bit over the few thousand miles.

We purchased this small pickup to help out with our remodel projects and have used it to haul a few things and so far the really short bed hasn't been a problem - but it definitely fills up quickly.

We've upgraded a few things already to make a great truck even better. We've added a sprayed-on bedliner, power lock kit (super cheap on eBay), drop-in KN Filter, and sprayed on noise/rust proofing underneath.

This is a great truck, small enough to make it easy to drive & park - yet large enough with the V-8 power to tow up to 7,800 pounds.

If your looking for a small to mid-sized truck definitely add this on to your list to look at. With all of the incentives that Dodge is usually floating around you're bound to get a great deal!
