A pleasant surprise

We drove a Dodge Stratus rental car for about a week on a recent vacation. I was bummed that we were getting a Dodge. I owned and older Dodge a few years back and could not wait to get rid of the thing, it was awful in every way.
We picked the car up and it looked good and drove nicely. After a week with the car and a lot of miles under our belts (we drove from Chicago to Washington, DC) we were very impressed.
The Stratus got good gas mileage, around 30 miles to the gallon highway.
It accelerated really well, which was invigorating, after driving around in our little Honda civic.
It handled very well, which was very nice for driving in the pouring rain over the curvy, hilly concrete highways of West Virginia.
The Stratus was extremely comfortable and even pretty easy to sleep in. The backseat was surprisingly roomy for a midsized car.
It has a fairly nice factory installed stereo system.
I have no idea how this car handles over time, as I only drove it for a week. But for the short term this seems like a great little car and I'd look into buying one if I were in the market right now.
