The price is right.

The Bottom Line:  Dodge Chargers are advertised on TV for under $17k at DeMontrond in Houston. That's cheaper than a Corolla (last time I checked)!
My wife and I have been renting a basic model Charger for a few weeks. The car is huge and comfortable, with lots of room and a solid feel on the road, a rare find at 25 mpg highway (I verified this). The car looks good from some angles, but cheap from others due to its lack of finishing panels. Unfortunately, for some reason, Dodge does not allow the fuel efficient models to look as good as the gas-guzzlers. The interior trim is low-end honest plastic that is well put together. However, the instrument cluster looks cheap, and the turn signal feels cheap and loose, and when it is switched, it snaps as if the plastic is breaking. The driver's seat sits rather high, which makes traffic lights and some highway signs impossible for me to see without ducking. The ignition switch is keyless. The cruise control is very precise and easy to use. The doors are heavy, and the door swing is underdamped, so I'm afraid that the hinges will wear out soon. The horn honks when the remote lock is used, so I have to use the lock button on the door when I come home late at night in order not to disturb my neighbors.
