Good when it worked

I purchased this DVD player and had a few months of wonderful use. Great picture, nice sound, but never did figure out how to send it into "random" disc play. Unfortunately, this thing is a lemon and will die quick.

The retail store I bought it from (Tweeter) won't carry it because they had too many problems with the transport mechanism. I called another "authorized" Denon dealer (Pacific Sales) and the manager I spoke with made the following comments:

"The 1815 was like the sun - every day it left ... it would come back the next day (or shortly thereafter)." According to my manager friend he refuses to stock this model and the other multi-changer DVD offered by Denon because they are poorly made (from a mechanical perspective) and nothing but trouble. He refused to even special order me one.

I never got around to returning the player during the warranty period because the CD player still worked, and, I figured it would be easy to just take the thing back to Tweeters for a new one. Ooops. Tweeter stopped selling this piece of junk and I was out of luck.
