Fast paced quick read

It took me 1 day to read this fast moving story about a woman trapped by technology.

The plot is about a woman who surrounds herself in a high tech house to feel safe...this offers the thought of what happens if the technology can think for itself? This is a very suspenseful book.

Because of how short it is, it's not a long commitment so I suggest reading it. I found the diabolical evil described in this book to be scary and disturbing. The feeling of being trapped is well represented and well written. I could feel the tension of the main character as she tries to escape from her situation.

This story is so terrifying if you think about your one safe haven (home) becoming the prison in which you are trapped.

This is a very suspenseful novel worth checking out.

I have not read the original written I think in 1979, I read the reprint that is very recent. I would love to see how Koontz writes about technology in a time before alarm systems for houses and intercoms and all the things we can't imagine living without.

This book is a great statement on todays society that says "what happens if technology becomes too advanced? What happens if we become too dependent on that technology?" If those questions interest you check out this book.

If you hated 1984, then I suggest skipping over this one.

The plot on this one is pretty basic, because Koontz doesn't have the length to develop it. In a longer book it might become boring. This is just the right length to cover the situation and find a resolution for it. The plot has a few twists and turns and shows just how resourceful the female main character can be.
