Author's Review
I love puzzle magazines, and one of my favourites is Dell Math Puzzles and Logic Problems. I'm always sending my husband out to buy logic and puzzle magazines and I'm so pleased when he comes back with this one.
It's published 6 times a year, and is reasonably priced even in Canadian dollars. It takes me quite awhile to finish the puzzles so I get value for my money.
The logic puzzles in this magazine are of moderate difficulty. I find them a bit tough, but I can finish them with a bit of effort. I usually finish the logic puzzles in this magazine first.
There are various kinds of math puzzles, some of which I like very much. The variety makes the magazine more interesting and challenging.
Figure Logic Puzzles are like crosswords, but with numbers. They are presented with escalating difficulty throughout the magazine. It took me awhile to learn how to solve these, but now I can finish them in a reasonable length of time.
Cross Sums Puzzles are my favourites. These puzzles are like "fill-ins" but with numbers instead of words. They are not easy, but very satisfying to complete.
Word Arithmetic Puzzles are long division problems with letters instead of numbers. I don't like these, and find them too difficult.
As well as these main types of puzzles, other assorted puzzles are included.
There are almost no advertisements in this magazine, except for a few ads for other puzzle magazines published by Dell.
Math Puzzles and Logic Problems provides many hours of stimulation for the brain. This magazine is perfect for a plane trip, the beach, or just for passing the time in an educational way.
Highly recommended to any who likes puzzles.
