Product Review

Excellent battery life, inexpensive to replace

by   suprechic99 ,   May 1, 2008

Pros:  easy to use, indicator lights at the bottom

Cons:  heavy, but that's unavoidable

The Bottom Line:  Easy to use with a great battery-life indicator feature. I recommend this product.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

The indicator at the bottom is an easy way to look and see how much power you have left. It also saved my butt once when I thought my Inspiron 600M laptop had a motherboard problem. It turned out that the battery was simply dying because I had had it for nearly 3 years without replacing it. If I hadn't had that indicator, I would have taken the advice I got on Google and Yahoo! Answers and taken the whole thing to a computer repair shop. Who knows how much that would have cost. Luckily, I went for the least expensive option first when I was able to test the battery power with the push of that button.
Of course, very easy to install (simply take the old one out and snap this one in; don't even have to turn off the computer) and it's a quick fix for your computer if the battery is what's really the problem.
It matches the paint of my laptop exactly. You can't tell at all that it's not the battery that came with my laptop originally, because guess what, it's the exact same battery :)
Always look online for prices before you buy from Dell! They quoted me a $200 battery and I got mine on eBay for $30 plus shipping.
