Samsung DVD-V5500 DVD Player / VCR Combo

Having purchased two units, one for me and one for my son, I must say these are the worst electronic devices I've ever bought.  Mine refuses to play many brand new discs and sticks at menu options most of the time.  My son wasn't using his, so I now have it and it too does the same thing.  These units are only 2 years old and they have done this since the 1 year point.  On the other hand, I've experienced no problems with the VCR, so I keep it for that reason since separate VCR's have become increasingly hard to find.  If you're looking for a combo with a reliable DVD player, this is not it.  If you need it for the VCR, go for it, since it's an inexpensive unit.
