A good ice cream maker

I have been thinking about getting one of these for some time now. Saw it at Costco for under $50 the other day and decided it was time to buy one. Home made ice cream is so good and being able to make it without ice, salt, or a crank is a very good thing.

It is well built and looks good on the counter; the brushed stainless and black color scheme fits in well. It doesn't take up a lot of precious counter space. It is very easy to clean and simple to operate.

Like all machines of this type it requires you to freeze its special bowl for several hours before you can use the machine. The bowl holds the cold well enough to freeze a full batch and then some. It takes about one half hour to make a batch. The finished product is just right; a nice smooth texture and very uniform in consistency. No runny spots or ice crystals.

The motor drive is powerful and surprisingly quiet. I am quite pleased to see that it doesn't have any cheap easy-break parts. There's only four parts to the whole machine which indicates that it'll be very reliable.

If you are thinking of buying an electric ice cream maker for your home you can't go wrong with this one.
