Author's Review
I purchased my Cuisinart Waffle iron about a month ago. Since then I have been using it very regularly. It has met my expectations and I am a satisfied customer.
I purchased my waffle iron at Macys on a whim. I have been making pancakes for my daughter and I was ready to move on to something else. Macys had about half a dozen waffle irons available on the self. Strangely the Cuisinart brand was kept separate on a Cuisinart self on the other side of the department. If you did not know this, or ask, you would not know Macys offered them.
While shopping for a waffle iron I had a notion that I wanted a Cuisinart right off the bat. I have been impressed with the Cuisinart quality from owning a Cuisinart Coffee Bar and toaster for many years. Although Cuisinart costs a bit more than other brands, I was willing to pay extra for the reputation.
There where two Cuisinart waffle irons available at Macys. There was a larger one that was square shaped and was priced about $20 to $40 more than the smaller round one. They were both on sale and I think it cost me about $35 to $40 for the small round waffle iron.
As for the features of the waffle iron, there isnt much. There is no on-off switch, which really annoys me, you just have to plug it and unplug it. There is an adjustment for the toasting degree. There is also a red and green LED to let you know when the iron is ready to cook and when the waffle is done. Although there arent many features, for this product you really dont need much.
The things I do like about the iron is that it is really easy to use, it looks great, and it is compact for storage. The things I dont like about it is that there is no on-off switch, the metal cover gets really hot, and there is no audible alert for when the waffle is ready.
Overall this product fits my life style and I am happy with it. For a small family, or a single person, I think this product would do just perfectly.
