Two Solutions to keep Basket in place
Date of Review: Jun 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: This is a good bread maker and if future model revisions have a redesigned bracket mechanism this may become a great bread maker.
We have the BRK 200 now for 6 months and it works almost daily. It makes fantastic bread. Unlike found in other messages we don't find the programming too awkward. We also do not have a problem with the noise.
There is however one problem with the BRK 200:
The snap-in brackets for the basket are poorly designed. There are some messages on the internet for this but I suggest 2 new solutions:
Solution#1:
A partial solution: The basket pops out mostly on one side. When we turned it 180 degrees if would only rarely pop out. To be able to insert it always in the direction where it pops out the least, we marked the basket and the snap-in bracket with a marker. Now it only pops out occasionally.
Solution#2
Another solution is to hold it in place with a kork from a champagne bottle (not plastic but cork). Not a highly technical solution but it works.
So far we like this bread maker except for the poorly designed snap in brackets.
I hope the company's design engineers read this message and design a different bracket mechanism for their future bread makers.
I can't say anything about the quality and/or durability as we have it only since 6 months. Will write about it in a few years if I don't forget.
