Excellent instrument; poor instruction pamphlet

I received the GPS as a Christmas present so that I could pursue a hobby of geocaching. Because the instruction manual emphasized features of the product instead of the procedures one needs to follow to reach a designated point, it took me an extra hour to figure everything out.
After that, everything was simple. The receiver is very accurate, but one must remain steady for about half a minute until it gets all the coordinates. It is really a joy to operate, and I find it does not use much battery juice, even though I have it on the whole hour or so that I am hunting for the cache.
It appears to be a well-made, waterproof unit, that can be operated easily with one hand. Everything is clearly visible on the little screen, and it is very easy to shift from one function to another. If you can get by the manual, everything is a "piece of cake".
