NAX970HD Problems
Pros:
Solid, boots fast, don't have to press OK everytime to view map.
Cons:
Software glitches galore, non existant map updates available from Clarion.
The Bottom Line:
Clarion NEEDS to listen to the public and offer updates to fix these problems.

Author's Review
Hi, I have a Clarion NAX970HD and there are some pros and cons on this thing. It's a solid machine and it boots up fast but Clarion needs an update on this thing.
First, the cons:
1. In 3D mode, I cannot get rid of the grid lines. They are a major pain because they are grey in color and so are some of the roads on this thing. It's easy to get the grid lines mixed up with the roads and the grid lines just add too much junk on the screen. They are not there in 2D mode, but I don't really like 2D look compared to 3D
2. I also have this problem with the NAX970 as well as the first poster. When I arrive at my destination, the NAX970HD says you have arrived at your destination BUT......... the as the crow flies dotted red line never does disappear. You literally have to go into the menu and CANCEL the route before you can do another one. It's very annoying. I think it's a software glitch.
3. When I have the map displayed and I tap the source button, it gives me my options of the usual sources, radio, sirius, dvd, etc. When I change audio sources and the head unit reverts back to the map it is like I turned on my headlights and the screen has dimmed MUCH darker than normal. When I turn my headlights on and then back off right away my screen becomes lighter again. I have tried just leaving it in DAY mode and it still dims when I change sources?? Who knows what kind of glitch this is? Software? LOL.
Second, the pros:
Overall, there are a few things I like about it. I like the fact that you don't have to press OK on the screen everytime to view the map when you start it. I like the fact that its not FM transmission based. I like the fact that you can be listening to an FM radio station and the navigator overrides the music and gives you instructions on your upcoming turns.
