I recently had the pleasure of test driving a 2006 Impala LT with the 3.9L V-6 and it was a true joy. In my opinion the styling of the Impala is great with a multitude of nice features like flip n fold rear seats, radio and climate controls with a minimal amount of buttons, comfy-supportive seats, and excellent fit n finish inside and out. The engine had excellent performance and the transmission shifted smoothly. Although, I cannot attest to the long term reliability of the Impala, I think it should be fairly good considering it is built in Oshawa, Ontario, a highly ranked assembly plant by JD Power and Associates. I can't wait until I can purchase one of these cars as they represent value in terms of quality, price, and refinement.

I've purchased a 2006 Impala 3LT with the 3.9 V6 and let me tell you that this is a great car. It looks great, it drives nicely, and has a lot of excellent features especially the warm interior, easy to use radio buttons, great visually appealing gauges, and comfortable seats. I get around 26 MPG on a mixed 75/25 highway/city driving, which isn't bad.
