The Canon ZR-400 was a real bargain, I researched several models from Sony, JVC, and Canon and chose the Canon for several reasons, 1. Canon is a CAMERA Company! 2. the price and features you get were in my budget (I did not want to pay over 400.00) 3. the look and feel of the camera was better.
The camera performs quite well and is very easy to operate, I purchased it mainly for home movies of vacations, kids etc. I have been very pleased with the ease of use, all the controls are easily accesable, the zoom feature is clear and performs well, Recording still images is easy to do but kind of a pain to go back and review images, and if you wish to delete images you have to go through several steps, unless there is an easier way that I am unaware of!
I ordered my camera through Butterfly Photo online, they shipped the product as promised, they did call me with "questions regarding my order" which turned out to be nothing more than a rude salesman who was eating his lunch while trying to sell me extra batteries etc. but all in all they delivered what they poromised and I avoided paying our communist state of Washington sales tax. I would recommend this product.
