Excellent value

Date of Review:  Oct 16, 2004
Review: Its a great camera for gadget freaks like me and my wife who is not.
The image quality is finally on par with 35 mm film with this camera. There are no delays with shooting except when the camera has to focus.
It has lots of features and...

S70 Great Compromise

Date of Review:  Mar 20, 2005
Review: I loved my Canon S30, which unfortunately was stolen. Portability was my main concern, and the S70 is borderline pocketable. I also wanted as many image and exposure control features as possible.

Overall rating is correct

Date of Review:  Dec 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: I take better photos than any of my friends. Durability is great (using the S family for more than 3 years now with no problems). I recommend it.
Review: I've been using this digital camera for 11 months now so my review will be more focused on a day-to-day experience.

I bought a Canon S45 some years ago and, except by the easily scratching body material, I was completely satisfied with the...

If only one, this is it.

Date of Review:  Oct 4, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you can find it, buy it. Its successor Canon S80 loses the essential RAW format. I lost my first, bought a second, and would buy again.
Review: I love it. I have had two in the last three years because I lost my first and can find nothing better. So let's not mince words: if you can only have one, the Canon S70 is the one to have. In a few words about what is really important, here's why...

Wonderful Point and Shoot

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you are willing to learn the menus, this camera will make almost everyone happy. As a Point-Shoot-Forget this camera is great.
Review: If all you want to do is open a shutter lens and snap, this is the camera for you.

The resolution is great and the colors are realistic. After snapping my 6 month old son for 2 months with it, I cannot find too many flaws for a...

S70 - 'S' for slick.. And everything else you need

Date of Review:  Aug 25, 2005
The Bottom Line: Buy this one if you want a sleek, convenient and power-packed camera.
Review: The Canon S70 is probably the sleekest and best camera I've used so far. This streamlined chunk of metal comes in a dark, marine blue with matt finish. The camera is powered on by moving the front flat outwards. This flap has a sexy brushed-metal...

Tough and sleek S70

Date of Review:  Dec 11, 2005
Review: Great camera, upgraded from a G2 I wanted more Megapixels and keep the manual settings yet smaller than the G2 so I could fit it in my pocket to go to parties or in my camelpack to take it biking. It has not let me down yet, takes great pictures...

Tough to beat: great optics, resolution and value for dollar

Date of Review:  Dec 6, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you want a compact format w/ HIGH quality, Canon's S70 should be on your short list.
Review: You can easily buy this camera online from a variety of good vendors for just over $400, plus shipping. The S series has been a cornerstone in the digital compact arena for about 4-5 years.

For the money, it's tough to come up w/ an...

Perfect Camera for Family AND Travel Pics!

Date of Review:  Mar 7, 2005
The Bottom Line: This camera can stand up to anything you throw at it. Extremely durable and easy to use, with top of the line picture quality.
Review: I bought this camera in October '04 as a replacement for my Canon S40, which broke when it was finally dropped one-too-many times by my 4 year old. It wasn't my first choice, as the video mode only does 15frames per second instead of the standard...

The Sharper Image

Date of Review:  Sep 22, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you like the new G6, but need a smaller camera, this baby was built just for you.
Review: I was very interested in reviewing the new PowerShot S70 when I heard of its release. As the owner of an S50, I evaluated the newer S60 when it came out and came to the conclusion that the new wide-angle lens was a tremendous advantage, but that...
