Author's Review

I bought my Rebel 2000 just six weeks before I bought my Rebel Ti. I am going to photography school and they recommended we have at least two cameras.

Both the 2000 and the Ti are great cameras, but there are a few differences that make the Ti a better buy. First off it has the new motor technology, think of it this way, you wouldn't want to buy a five year old computer when you can buy a new one for just $50.00 more. The technology that is on the inside of the Ti is five years more advanced than the 2000.

Lens
The Ti comes with a 28-90mm Ultrasonic lens, compared to the 2000's 28-80mm non-Ultrasonic. (Some stores may have different lens selections.)

Display/Modes
The Ti and Rebel have all the same modes for picture taking. However the Ti has a date stamp that you can turn on and off and the 2000 does not. Also the dial on the Ti is larger and in a more convenient spot on the Ti. The Ti also boasts a large display screen on the back of the camera instead of on the top right. This makes for much easier viewing of your settings.

Body
The body on the Ti has a larger hand grip, but is overall a tad smaller than the 2000.

Noise??
The Ti runs much quieter than the 2000. The 2000 is actually quite noisy and distracting.

Both cameras have red eye reduction, full manual mode, full auto mode, and fit the same accessories. So if you have lots of accessories for your 2000 you don't have to replace all the extras they are inter-changable!
