A great charger that came with my camera!

I have been using my Canon Powershot S500 for 10 months now and this charger is one of my favorite accessories.

Physical Characteristics:
This little charger is only 2-1/4" W x 3-5/8" H x 1-1/8" D.
It only weighs 2.8 oz, which is great for bringing it along on short trips.

An excellent feature is the prongs that plug into the outlet actually fold into the charger so you don't risk bending them while it is in storage. It also makes bringing it along easier than some other bulky battery chargers.

This charger is compatible with the NB-1L and NB-3L batteries that are used by most of the powershot S series camera(S100, S110, S300, S330, S200, S230, S400, S500)

My Experience:
The only downside to this charger than I can think of is the folding prongs. Sometimes when you try to push the charger into the wall the prongs will try to fold up if the fit is tight into the socket. This is really a minor annoyance and has never stopped me from using it.

It takes this charger about 45-85 mins on average to charge my good battery from completely exhausted. During the charging of the battery the unit does get a little warm, but never even close to hot, so I'm not worried about this charger as a fire hazard.

Other Features:
The only other feature worth mentioning is that this charger can run on anything from 100 to 240 volts. This makes it usable, in theory, worldwide. Canon does note that you might need an adapter to plug it into other international sockets.

Warranty:
Comes with a standard 30 day replacement warranty. Since we have been using it for 10 months, we are way beyond the warranty. Personally I think this warranty is very short, but that seems to be the standard today unfortunately.

Summary:
This has been a great charger for us and I like the compact size that doesn't get super hot. I recommend this charger for anyone that needs a replacement for their Canon cameras that use the NB-1L or NB-3L batteries.
