2006 Buick LaCrosse CXL
Pros:
Smooth handling, comfortable seats, classy appearance, reliability, good trunk space, powerful passing gear.
Cons:
Arm rest in between front seats is too short.
The Bottom Line:
I would definitely recommend this vehicle and will certainly look at another LaCrosse when the time comes.

This is possibly the best car we've ever owned. It's an absolute pleasure to drive and comes with many conveniences. Handling is very precise and smooth, and we have to make sure we use the cruise control while on the interstate, because if we don't, the smooth ride has us over the speed limit in no time. Gas mileage has been about 19 city/29 highway. The interior is very comfortable and smart looking. The power driver's seat comes with a lumbar function, which makes the seat conform to your spine. This is an awesome feature, especially on long drives. Another feature we like is that the rear seats fold down, creating an opening into the trunk. This has come in very handy for hauling long items.
OnStar was included for one year, which we are going to renew when it comes due. The basic service is only $199 for a year, which we think is pretty cheap considering the safety and security it offers. It also has a phone function, which is so incredibly convenient. Just push the phone button on the rear view mirror and speak the phone number you want to call, and your conversation will come over the speakers. You can purchase minutes from OnStar, or link your Verizon wireless account to the vehicle (we bought minutes; the Verizon thing requires a particular Verizon package). By the way, the microphone is nicely hidden under/behind the rear view mirror and is sensitive enough that you don't have to speak like a robot for it to understand commands.
If there is any drawback to this vehicle (and we really had to look around to find something to complain about), it would be that the console/arm rest between the front seats is too short to be of much use. If you're going to use it as an arm rest, you're actually moving your arm back, instead of letting your arm fall at your side. But I guess that's one of the consequences of being too short and having the seat moved forward!
We are very pleased with this vehicle and would definitely consider another LaCrosse.
