Author's Review
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an enjoyable, witty, entertaining trip into a different dimension, where demons and vampires roam free, and the rest of us struggle to keep up. The series stars Sarah Michelle Geller as the chosen one or the vampire slayer, who, armed with her watcher, as played by the talented Anthony Stewart Head progresses from high school to college, encountering first love and vampires.. simultaneously? The series takes place on the Hellmouth, an area that seems to draw in supernatural evil, and attract demons. Joss Whedon directs, adding a definite and original comedic note to the majority of the series. The series really picks up steam and finds its main direction in the third season. Characters such as Spike, Anya, and Xander allow for humorous situations such as vampires who cant feed off of humans, and dramatic ones, such as vampires who dont want to feed off of humans. The series spawned a spin-off called Angel, which is seen by fans as to be lesser. In the fifth season, Dawn, as played by Michelle Trachtenberg, is introduced and the series takes a subsequent downturn. However, in the sixth and final seasons, the show regains its steam and finds its original direction again.
