Product Review

Very Dissapointing - 3 Times

by   tomewilson ,   Aug 17, 2006

Pros:  None that we have observed.

Cons:  Unreliable technically. Extremely poor customer service.

The Bottom Line:  Don't purchase this unit. Also Brohter has very poor service.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

Puchased this unit summer of 2005 and right out of the box, it didn't work. Brother sent someone to repair it 2 days later. We stored it for about 5 months until we started up our business. Soon after hooking it up, it didn't print margins correctly, colors were off and there was a good deal of streaking.

We worked with Brother conducting multiple tests and FedExing examples of printed copies. This went on for about a month. We had to send our work outside. Brother sent us a replacement part to change out ourselves. It mostly worked for a few days and then develolped similar issues. We worked with brother again and they shipped a new (reconditioned according to them) unit.

Almost out of the box, this unit had issues -- the same as before and others also developed. Again we worked with Brother conducting tests, checking multiple network setting, and FedExing printed copies for there review.

At this point, we requested a refund or upgrade. They flatly refused both. With no choice, we accepted a third unit. They did send us along an extra set of toner (at my request -- for all of the time we invested).

This one seems to print ok colorwise, but jumbles up characters. We contacted Brother and they asked us to try new drivers for Adobe. We have still not been able to resolve this yet.

We have invested well over $1,000 in our own labor conducting tests on behalf of Brother. We've also had our outsourced Network professional (expert with 25 years experience).
