Cooks all day while the cook's away

The Bottom Line: Life is fast...Slow Cookers are slow! In a world like today, these two make a great team. It's easy, fun and full of good eats!
Crock Pot Annie, is the nickname the teachers that I work with call me.
Almost everyday, I get asked, "what's for dinner tonight", Annie! When I tell them what it is and that dinner will be waiting when I get home, because I used my Rival Slow Cooker, they sigh and say, "I wish I would have thought to get my slow cooker out!"

* Stoneware crockery pot is dishwasher safe
**To wash your stoneware right after cooking, use hot
water. Do not pour cold water into the crockery if
the stoneware is hot.
So often I hear people say, that their crockery pot or glass lid broke while washing them or adding certain foods to them.
CARE of STONEWARE:
As with any fine ceramic, the stoneware bowl will not withstand the shock of sudden temperature changes.
* If the stoneware has been preheated or is hot to the
touch, do not put cold foods into it.
* Do not preheat Crock-pot slow cooker before using, unless
specified in the recipe. The stoneware should be at room
temperature before adding hot foods.
LOOKS:
Exquisite black crockery sits in a chrome exterior base. The lid is glass with a black handle. Finger prints are more noticeable with this color, so keep some chrome cleaner around!
LARGE:
I like the new large size that Rival now sells. One would think that as your family gets smaller that all you need to cook in is smaller...not me!
I use my Rival Slow Cooker not only to cook my main meal, but I also wrap potatoes in foil and toss them under the roasting bag that I put my main ingredients in.
I have cooked a three dish meal all at once. I use a lot of roasting bags in my slow cooker, because this allows me to add different ingredients in each bag. The size of my Rival Slow Cooker is the 6.5-Quart crockery pot, and it allows me to place more roasting bags in it, resulting into a delicious meal that only took me the amount of time to put the ingredients in the bags...pop them into the crockery and turn the switch on to low.
After 8 hours of work and home to homework myself, it sure is a relaxing feeling knowing that I am coming home to a home cooked meal and my family will be full and happy!
I have noticed however; my larger slow cooker cooks a lot faster than my smaller one. This could be hazardous to your food if you haven't got the cooking time down.
**I recommend that you practice on a smaller meal in this size of cooker at first, until you gain the knowledge of how long it takes your cooker to cook. If you place you meal into this cooker, turn it to low and walk away...8 hours later, your food my be burned.
I get away with 8 hours cooking time simply because I cook more food in more bags than the usual person. It only takes practice and patience to make a very lovely meal...hang in there!
I rate this Slow Cooker 4 stars.
* First because I love it and it works for me. The size is unbelievable and the clean up fabulous, because of the removable stoneware crockery!
* Second it only received the 4 stars, because the low setting cooks hotter than the smaller sizes. The hand booklet doesn't state anywhere that it may be hotter than the others. This can be frustrating for someone who doesn't understand the slow cooker method.

I have had one for 23 years and it is still going strong.
The others that I no longer have are dead because I killed them by dropping them...oops!
