by   tlkreviews ,   May 8, 2006

Pros:  Makes breads, butter, cakes and puddings. So many things!!

Cons:  Nope, nothing wrong with this machine !!

The Bottom Line:  I love my breadman machine. It does so much more then your usual breadmaker. I love the butter feature and its my favorite thing about the breadman.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

This review is for the Corner Bakery Bread and Dessert maker. The days of when bread makers just made bread are long gone. This unit makes large 2 pound loaves of bread, dough, pudding, cheesecake, variety of different cakes and rolls, fudge, even fresh homemade butter !! My favorite thing to do on a weekend morning is wake up and make some fresh butter, which only requires one cup of whipping cream and thirty minutes, use the buttermilk left over from the butter and add it to my pancake mix. I then cook up some buttermilk pancakes and spread fresh butter on top for a delicious breakfast! A separate spiral cookbook filled with different recipes and variations is included with the unit. The cookbook also includes tips and suggestions for the best bread results.

Some of this breadmakers features include a 3 hour keep warm cycle, a 13 hour delay timer that allows you to wake up to fresh bread every morning, 19 different programs, crust color control. Included with the unit is a measuring cup and a clear plastic butter lid (used only when making butter). There is a bread pan and kneading blade. The unit is white and weighs approximately 2 pounds. Very light and easy to store. The control panel is very fun to look at. The outer edges looks like a brick oven, the area with the digital timer is yellow with up and down buttons on the side, the select button is shaped like a slice of bread with 7 different setting underneath, there is a dessert button shaped like a cake with a slice missing, a fast bake button shaped like a clock, a crust color button, a start button and a stop button shaped like, of course, a stop sign.

This machine is wonderful and I'm glad to have it. It does make some noise when its operating but not enough that is too distracting. The unit shakes a bit when mixing the dough. When the bread is finished the bread comes right out of the pan. I have had no problems with sticking, nor have I had the blade become stuck in the bread. I have had a bit of trouble getting the blade out of the pan while trying to clean the unit but that is minor and to be expected as well. I have found that if I put some water in the pan and let it soak a little bit the blade comes right out. This seems to be a result of the crust getting stuck between the blade and bottom of the unit during the baking cycle. I don't find this to be a problem and doesn't affect my opinion of the item.

The unit is very easy to operate and use. All you have to do is place the ingredients in the pan, choose your preferred settings and turn it on. The breakmaker does everything needed to produce a wonderful loaf of bread. All you have to do is fill the pan with the ingredients, wait and then remove your bread from the pan. Its really that easy. The unit has a very loud beep that signals various times when the unit needs ingredients added and/or when its done. It will also keep the bread warm for up to three hours if you can't get to it right away or to ensure it stays warm for meals.

My favorite thing to do with mine is the fresh butter. I have found though (and this could also be because my machine is almost three years old) that it sometimes takes a few thirty minute cycles before the butter forms. I'm not sure if the tempature of the whipping cream has anything to do with it or not. It doesn't happen everytime I use it, just something to remember if yours does it too.

This bread maker come highly recommended to anyone who loves to make fresh bread, butter and desserts and likes to be able to do it all in one unit.

Regards
Tammy Krause
