Best dollar for dollar buy on the market, bar none!
Date of Review: Mar 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: Buy it, you can't go wrong on this one! Great, comfortable shaves, without any irritation!
After reading a review of this razor on the ERR forum, I saw it on sale at Walgren's for $14.99, and just couldn't resist. it has proved to be the best shaver buy that I have ever made! If Braun could only get their high end shavers to compete with this little beauty, I would probably still own one.
Here is what you get. A single foil razor that can be washed, and can also be used in the shower. On two alkaline batteries, that come with it I might add, you get 60 minutes worth of shaves. An absolutely brilliant design where the top end twists around to shave, and then back again to completely lock the on/off button for travel and foil protection. A little brush that slides into the bottom of the razor, and a two year warranty, all for less then it would cost you for any replacement set of rotary heads, or foils!
It shaves as fast and at least as close as my Panasonic ES8163, Modified Norelco 8894XL, or my Norelco 9190XL. I have used it both wet and dry with close and comfortable shaves. No after shave redness, bumps, ingrown hairs, or irritation at all, which is a real plus! When on the road I just keep it in my little leather fanny pack with my digital camera for those times when I have evening meetings, as many times I can't get back to my room. What a life saver it has been. I will probably use the rechargable batteries that I have for my digital camera when the ones that came with it run out. I love the fact that they are interchangable with my cameras batteries.
"If" there is a down side to this razor, it would be that it looks like a toy, and with razors that cost at least $100 dollars plus in my drawer, it is still hard to believe that this little guy, which I affectionately call my "Pocket A Go Go", has features that some of my higher end, and much higher priced razors do not. In fact I just replaced the batteries in my old, early eighties, Norelco 985RX, and I paid more for the batteries for it then I did for this little razor! I have a hard time getting rid of anything that still works! I guess that I am old school where things were not cheaper to buy new then to fix! LOL
I would highly recommend this little razor for anybody that does any traveling. And buy the way, if you might be thinking about buying a new razor, try this one first, and you might not need to go any farther, that is after you the shock of just how good this little razor shaves, and it's versatility!
