The Story Of A Murderer

Most probably my favorite book of all time. I'm not quite sure any description I could give this book would do it justice. The ending was the single most mind-blowing conclusion to a novel that I've ever encountered. I never could have imagined a novel based almost entirely around the sense of smell could be so magnificent. A boy, born with an unearthly sense of smell is shunned by society and grows up a loner, in a world they could never comprehend. His own lack of personal pheromones causes him to float through the streets like a ghost, ignored by other humans, and looked down upon when he is forced to come in contact with others. He can remember any scent he's ever gotten a whiff of, and amuses himself by creating coctails and perfumes made of various scents from the past...until one day he stumbled upon the scent that would eventually drive him to commit murder...the scent of virgins. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended.
