An Entertaining Baseball Sim
Date of Review: Dec 31, 1999
I loved it! I have been playing baseball sims since 1962 from board games to the computer age. I first played Baseball Mogul a few years ago with their first release. It was fun but I soon got bored of it. I skipped the next release-Baseball 1999 and was I glad! Because I took a chance on Baseball Mogul 2000, the latest release - the write ups peaked my attention. I wasn't disappointed. Realism and challenge were the improvements and more. The decisions you will have to make to run a successful organization are there in the game. You have a financial mode to worry about; If you run out of money you can't pay your players or sign that free agent you've been wanting. Keep an eye on your farm system, if its a good system, you'll turn out some good players and other times you'll reap disappointments- like in real life. The game is for playing a career league for many years to come. See if you can be the best baseball mogul of all time competing against real life records of some of baseball's greatest managers. Also set your lineup and pitching rotation. Find the best chemistry between your available relief pitchers and spot starters. Keep an eye on the ratings of your players since they may change during the course of a season or sooner. Make trades with other teams - you against the computer.... Be careful though this computer is smart and good pitchers will cost an arm and a leg. Many more features!
