Quality look for an amateur makeup artist

The Bottom Line: 3 simple steps to natural looking and feeling makeup. Gotta love that!
I'm still a tomboy in my late twenties. I always felt pretty without makeup when I was younger and thought I would stick to that frame of mind as long as I could and save my skin some clogging. Well, that time is over. I'm now overworked, under rested, and planning a wedding to boot. Stress and lack of sleep have been horrible for my skin for the last few years. So I decided it was time to start wearing some makeup to make myself look and feel better. But I had no makeup skills! I was like a 12 year old all over again. Bare minerals got recommended to me by some very girly chic friends in nursing school and a good friend from work who really knows her beauty products. I saw the infomercial and was skeptical because I never thought I'd buy anything off an infomercial. Now that I have it, I can't live without it.
Here's my breakdown:
The Foundation with SPF 15 (medium tone):
This is a loose powder foundation. You really don't need very much, even for heavy coverage. I use the maximum coverage brush the kit comes with and am satisfied with zit coverage. Not perfect but good enough for me. I do love how this foundation evens out my skin tone, doesn't look 'makeup-y,' and makes my skin glow. It's also very light and should you fall asleep with it on after a late night, no big deal. It's a very CLEAN makeup. I love that.
Warmth blush:
Ok, this is the best blush I've ever used. Just the tiniest bit will do. Any more than that is overkill. It's just a mere dot or two in the lid of the container. I have tan or olive skin and the medium toned warmth is not pink at all, more maroon. It's perfect for summer tanned skin. It looks completely natural. Warmth is what has me totally sold on this makeup kit.
Mineral Veil:
This is a completely sheer finishing powder. This powder sets my makeup and gives continuity of tone all over my face. It's completely transparent so you can apply as much as you want. It adds to that youthful glow that I look to get from makeup or skin care products.
I've gotten lots of compliments on my makeup since I started using Bare Escentuals. That means a lot to someone like me with little experience applying makeup, especially coming from fashion and makeup experienced friends and cousins! However, understanding how to use the makeup and then applying it are effortless. Three snappy steps. 5 minutes of time and my makeup is done. Best of all, I don't feel like I'm wearing more than a layer of powder on my face. I've also had no problems with breakouts or blackheads. In fact, my skin tone is noticeably more refined after using this makeup. I will definitely check out other Bare Escentuals products. I've been using this makeup line for 6 months.
Buying the starter kit for discount price requires you to join their club which you can cancel at anytime. I've stuck with the club. They have great customer service and send cool free gifts with your shipments. Also, you can adjust the shipping schedule to suit your usage needs. So instead of receiving the powder refills every other month, I chose to receive them every 3 months.
