Product Review

Very Good Lightweight Stroller

by   faegin ,   Nov 17, 2007

Pros:  Lightweight with good storage and sturdy

Cons:  Bar at bottom of the stroller takes up some room in the basket

The Bottom Line:  Better than the Maclaren, lightweight and sturdy, very user friendly

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought this stroller three weeks ago after it was recommended by a salesperson at Buy Buy Baby. I was looking to replace a lightweight Combi that had been used by my oldest for 2 years and wanted something sturdy with a five point harness for my active one year old/escape artist. I wanted a lightweight easy to fold and carry stroller. I was thinking of maybe a Maclaren umbrellas stroller when I visited the store, but my Maclaren Twin Traveller had not held up as well as I would expect an almost $300 stroller would, and the singles seemed flimsy when I tried it out in the store. The salesperson suggested this new stroller and it definitely seemed sturdier, steered well and it was real sharp looking with it's metallic blue color. The seat is nicely padded and there is a large basket for a lightweight. I didn't buy it in the store since I had never heard of the brand, but came home and did a little online research. I did not find many reviews, but the three that I did find were positive. I ended up buying the stoller from Amazon for $169 with free shipping ($10 less than Buy Buy Baby and no tax). The stroller arrived about a week later and it was very easy to assemble--just attach the wheels and canopy. My son is very comfortable in it and after two weeks of heavy daily use, I'm very pleased. My son and the stoller is in and out of the car four to six times and day as I bring his older sisters to and from school, pre-school and activities, so it is folded and unfolded many many times a day. It is lightweight, easy to fold and carry, the brakes are good and sturdy on hills and it's easy to move a sleeping baby to and from the car seat to the stoller without waking him. The other day I got caught in pouring rain with my son in the stroller, and the ability to unhitch the canopy and slide it forward came in very handy. His shins got wet, but he was pretty comfortable given I had forgotten to bring a raincover. The five point harness is very easy to work--one squeeze and all the straps unhitch and the adjustable footrest gives lots of options for positioning. He falls asleep easily in the stroller, the height is great for me at 5'6'' and my 6'3'' husband is also comfortable with handle position. The large basket is very convenient and now that it's cold here in the Northeast--it holds all three of my kids coats and hats easily and my diaper bag and purse hangs easily from the handles. The balance of the stoller is very good too. It has not tipped over even when bags are hanging from the handles and I remove my son. The only issues I've had is that the cover for the buckle falls off easily, so I've removed it for good and the bar that crosses through the basket does take up some space, but it's still larger than any other lightweight stoller's basket that I've seen. I highly recommend.
