Roadsters for N64
I was looking for a new racing game to play on the N64, and I cam across Roadsters made by Titus over at my local rental store. I looked at the back of the box, and thought it looked good, so I rented it. All I can say now is, remind me never to rent anything made by Titus.
I have played the Crusin' and Rush games, and those have always been very good to me. Great speed, no real slowdowns in framerate (I always look for frame rate in games like this), great graphics, sound, and all of that. However, Roadsters takes all of that and basically says, "Screw that, lets make a racing game as quick as possiable and put it out in the market".
I will just make this a quick opinion, since I can't really say anything good about this game. The controls were very evil. Turning the car itself was hard to do. The turning wasn't slow at all, it just turned way to fast, and you have to move the joystick around alot just to get your car stable again.
The framerate droped down alot in many parts of the game, making it sick to play at times. The graphics were, as that guy in the "Quotesmith.com" commercial says, "The graphics are totally lame". Many of the textures were even, ugh, blocky as hell and washed out of color.
