The Bottom Line: Definitely recommend the machine as long as the user researches and understands the different drying method.
Condo situation required my researching alternatives to regular washers and dryers as I had no way to vent a traditional dryer. I chose the Asko based on their reputation...the company as a whole, as I knew no one with a combo unit. I pestered the local dealer for months as they were just started to be delivered here and finally got mine installed.
I've read the complaints about the drying cycle, which prompted me to write. You HAVE to be aware of the differences in the type of drying and you NEED to follow the instructions for best results. This includes the use of fabric softener to lessen wrinkling...although I have great results without using any. Your laundry will come out quite dry if you don't overload the machine, in a reasonable amount of time. Anytime you dry dress clothes, remove them immediately, while still damp, and hang them up to completely dry. All it takes is knowledge of the system and following the directions to get perfectly acceptable results. I was more than willing to do so to gain the convenience this machine offered and am very happy with it.
The problem I have had is different than most postings. My machine is almost four years old now and I've had to have service out twice to replace, first, the wiring harness (covered under warranty) for a burn-out situation; second time same problem a different repairman replaced the boards but not the harness, which he was able to salvage from the same burn-out problem (covered under warranty.)
All in all I'm pretty pleased with this purchase and would recommend the Asko.
