A perfect bed
Date of Review: Feb 27, 2000
I purchased the Armsreach Bedside Co-sleeper after seeing an advertisement in a magazine, then looking it up online. I went to a baby store to see it IRL before purchasing.
The Co-sleeper is very convenient, with comfortable padding for baby. It attaches to any bed, so your baby is right there "in bed" with you, without taking up space, or the worry of rolling onto baby.
Having my babies right next to me in the co-sleeper has several advantages.
1. I nurse my babies, and having them within armsreach is very convenient for the nighttime feedings occuring every 2 hours.
2. Parents of new babies tend to want to check on them alot. Lifting my head and looking over instead of getting out of bed was so much easier.
3. The security a baby feels in it's parents touch is unmatchable. Sometimes just reaching over and laying my hand on my baby's chest is enough comfort to allow him to sleep easily. If you have a baby that likes to be held to sleep, this is a very real alternative to sleeping on the sofa with baby in your arms.
There are pockets on the inside to keep little necessities, like pacifiers, diaper wipes, and even a couple diapers right there within reach, and a handy side bag snaps on for toys, blankets etc...
The co-sleeper is portable and easy to set up, but once you set it up, it is not convenient to use as the pack and play. There is too much to taking it down and putting it back up again.
As your baby gets older:
The Armsreach Co-sleeper becomes an easily portable 'pack and play'.
The comfortable padding allows for good naps in a secure place.
