Mac's are easier than ever to operate

Date of Review: Apr 17, 2008

The Bottom Line:  It's a stable, easy to use platform with coolness built in.
I have always loved Macs, so can't say that I am surprised to really like using this iMac - it's not a huge surprise. The OS has progressively gotten easier and easier to use. My 5 year old is even navigating through iPhoto and iTunes to see her favorite pictures and hear her favorite tunes (Hannah Montana - kill me now!).

Honestly the only negative about any Mac is price. I joke that Apple is "proud" of their systems which accounts for the cost. A similar spec'd PC is often quite a bit less expensive, but at the end of the day the Mac still is a better system for ease of use, stability, and ok, I admit it, coolness. I like the way it looks.

I would advise for those needing a "Microsoft Office" type substitute (for writing files, presentations, spreadsheets, etc) to download Openoffice (openoffice.org) and use that on the Mac. You can purchase iWork or Microsoft Office for Mac, but openoffice is free and is, I think, more powerful because it can open files of nearly any format and save them in nearly any format - including exporting files as pdfs. It's way cool - and I said it before - FREE!

Have fun!
