unfortunately we had to return it

I loved the layout of this bottom freezer, I found it very spacious and nice looking. However, I had to return it to the store because I could not get used to the noise level. I had chosen this unit specifically because of the "Softsound package" but I found this noise of the compressor more than I could stand. It was louder than my top freezer, even with a rubber backed carpet placed below it (I tried to get used to it, I wanted to keep it!) But I returned it after a week. It ran for about 15-19 minutes, then off for 17-23, then on, and the problem was the pitch of the compressor, very loud and also high at the same time. If it was quieter, I could have been happy. I am still searching for my "perfect refrigerator" with a low noise level. I'll let you know when I find it. Too bad this wasn't the one.
