Stylish fun to drive car with lots of features
Date of Review: Oct 8, 2007
The Bottom Line: After almost 3 years of driving this car, I am very pleased with the reliability, design and handling. Worth the money. I will definately buy another Acura.
We bought our Acura in December of 2004 and it has almost 50k miles on it. We bought the car brand new based on its excellent safety ratings, performance, reputation and sleek design. Overall we are very happy with the car and have not had one single problem with it.
There are a lot of things about our car that we enjoy and I intend to highlight a few. First and foremost, the navigation System. Since I get lost almost every time I go somewhere new, I decided to buy a car with a built in navigation system. The Acura's system is very easy to use and provides helpful features such as nearest gas stations, atms, restaurants and shopping. You can select voice activation for audible directions, written directions or simply follow the map. You can chose certain roads to avoid and find more than one route (ex: most direct, minimize tollroads, etc.) You can even search for a place using their phone number. What's also nice is that if you miss an exit or make a wrong turn (yes, it is possible for people like me to make a wrong turn even with a navigation system) the system will redirect you. Therefore you can never be lost! The navigation system also has an info. screen that tells you your average miles per gallon of gasoline and how many miles you have remaining before you run out of gas.
Another aspect about the car we enjoy is the reliability - we have never had a single issue with this car. With routine check ups and maintenence we anticipate this car lasting for many more years. We have Acura roadside assistance should we ever have an issue (thankfully we've never had to use this). The car also handles very well in all conditions. I've driven in rainstorms and snowstorms and the car performed well. I wouldn't say it handles as well as an SUV with four wheel drive in the snow, but it can hold its own. We enjoy the way it drives and like the tiptronic feature that allows you to drive in manual or automatic. It is very fun to drive.
The Acura has plenty of creature comforts included such as a roomy trunk, comfortable leather seating, easy to operate sunroof, heated driver and front passenger seat, dual climate control, plenty of storage compartments in the front and the latch system for car seats in the back.
There are some things which could be improved. It is very difficult to get an infant seat in and out of the back seat. I suppose that is why they make minivans. Additionally, there should be a cup holder for rear passengers in addition to the one in the rear center pull down arm rest. If you are using an infant seat, you can not access these cup holders. We would also like headlights that automatically come on when you turn on the car. All of these things being said, we would still buy the car based on these few inconveniences. We love our Acura!
