Product Review

Great Laptop to Use!

by   mikeyb1987 ,   Aug 3, 2008

Pros:  Price Memory Hard drive space Built in webcam Wireless Memory card reader 4 usb ports

Cons:  Too many acer programs on the computer. It uses Vista. No downgrade to XP.

The Bottom Line:  I would recommend to anyone who needs a laptop that gets the work done and isn't a huge money spender.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

This was our first laptop ever from Acer. It was on sale at Circuit City for $500. I got it and it was great. The speed and quality of the computer is amazing. Along with the 3gb of ram and huge hard drive, it performed very fast using the memory hog Vista Operating System. Once out of the box, the laptop installed Vista flawlessly without any problems. Within 30 minutes I was all ready online with the wireless card using my network at home.

I tried the webcam that was built-in with the laptop. It worked great. The video was nice and it seamlessly worked without slowing down the computer.

The memory card reader is a plus these days. It is very easy to store pictures from a digital camera and place them onto the computer without having to plug in the digital camera.

This Acer laptop comes with 4 USB ports. That is a big pro these days in the age of USB hardware. My old laptop had 2. The only way I could get more was to buy a USB hub for my old laptop, but that slows down the computer when you try to run 4 different things through the USB hub into 1 USB port.

One suggestion about the Acer laptop is the actual Acer software that comes preinstalled on the computer. In my opinion, it is not necessary to have. I removed all of it because I don't really use the clutter they put on.

Overall, I would say after having the Acer laptop for a week, it was a great deal with the price I paid (along with the free router, case, software, printer it came with). I only use it for work, so it fit my needs
