I have been driving this car since Oct 2006 and now have 29,000 miles on the odometer. It has needed only the usual oil changes and routine maintenance. This car has a 5.3L V8 engine with the displacement on demand feature. I love the power and the subtle rumble when I turn it on. This is a hot looking car and turns heads. The boys at Express Lube and the car wash always make a fuss over it when I bring it in.
The Monsoon sound system is fabulous. The control panel is reasonably set up although the rear window defogger is always hard to find. The climate control feature works well and once set to your liking you don't need to adjust it.
I do not particularly like the "plastic" look to the dash but am used to it now. The seats are comfortable. My husband has a long back and thinks that the head room is limited for him. He puts the seat way back so that his head clears the roof.
Speaking of the roof, a rattle developed that I could not find. The noise really irked me and finally my husband found the source was the trim on the sunroof. He fashioned some double-sided tape and successfully stopped the rattle.
The legroom in the back seat is short but the seats are comfortable. Visibility for the back seat passenger is limited due to the height of the front seats. The seat belts are comfortable in the back seat.
The trunk is large and easily accommodates luggage.
As for the mileage, it is rated 17 city/25 highway. I use regular gas and get about 18 mpg in the city. Recently I took a long distance trip and got about 26 mpg.
The tires on this car are wider in the front than the back. I have just replaced the front tires at $265 each. This was a painful expense that goes with the territory. If I had realized the tires could not be rotated when I purchased the car, I might not have bought it but I was mesmerized with the look of the car and was not thinking straight.
