Author's Review
We bought our 2005 Sedona new in Jan of 06'. It was one of the WORST buying experiences ever. The salespersons were rude, and we were paying cash w/a trade in and we still paid 16,400. I feel like we got ripped off, since most folks who bought 05's in 06 got great deals (15,500 and under). PLUS the dealer incentive that lowered the price so significantly (a national incentive of 4,500 off) was ruled to be something WE had to pay taxes on! Even though it was a DEALER incentive, not a BUYER incentive (an important difference in tax lingo). We got it home, it now has 24000 miles on it and it is fine but for:
1. cheap side trim. In the first 2000 miles, a grocery cart hit the side of the van and the side trim broke off. Dealer said tough luck, try gluing it on.
2. There was a gas light that came on, and was replaced for free. I was told by the dealer/service dept. we now go to that it was a standard problem. BTW- I drive1 hour and 15 min. to get to the new dealer in order to AVOID the old one (Harrisonburg, VA Kia and parent where service is, Toyota. AVOID!)
3. It is cramped for anyone over 5'10" tall. My husband is 6'1 and has a difficult time riding long distances in it.
4. The rear seats are ok for small people, but getting into them is a trick. You have to climb OVER the center seats in a big way. We should have gone for the 06 redesign, wider and longer.
5. Gas mileage stinks. 14-18 city, 16-20 highway.
6. Seats are comfortable, safety ratings great, warranty great.
7. Get the newer models, don't pay too much, and you'll have a good van. CAVEAT: two major recalls on 05' models, look them up on the net and get your car in NOW. These are serious.
