Author's Review
I think this is a great workout DVD for people like me who know they should exercise, but hate exercising. There are 4 different workouts on this DVD, each only 15 minutes long. That was the biggest selling point for me, because I can rarely (i.e. once every few months) psych myself up to exercise, but I have been able to get myself motivated to exercise every day for a week. It is easy when you tell yourself, "It's only 15 minutes!" Each workout targets a different area of your body, so at the end of the workout it feels good to say, "I did something to make my _______ look better, get stronger!" Each workout has a good amount of variety packed into the 15 minutes. I am very uncoordinated and have had a tough time with many workout tapes, but these exercises are not complicated. The instructor is able to sound motivating without being annoying. I am fairly out of shape (sorry to say) and these exercises were challenging (I was sweating) but I was able to complete all the workouts completely except for the abdominal workout. The video also gives you tips on how to modify the exercise to either make it easier or more challenging, so this is a DVD that you could use for a while. Sometimes the tips are distracting, but they are usually helpful. The only other negative is that the video is very fast-paced; it goes by quickly, but when I would stop to take a sip of water I felt like I missed too much! Finally, the other good thing about it is that there is a little stopwatch that appears at the bottom of the screen periodically, to tell you how much more time you have! I loved that feature; it feels good when you are starting to feel tired, and then see you only have 5 minutes left. I have experienced muscle soreness the day after each workout, but the good kind that comes from a good workout, not like a pulled muscle or anything.
I would definitely recommend this video to anyone, especially someone who needs a lot of variety and someone who has a hard time exercising regularly.
