PREVIOUS STROLLER COMPARISON (Combi Savvy)
We purchased this stroller after our other one broke. We owned a Combi Savvy because we have twin boys and another boy two years older. The Savvy was a great everyday use stroller, but made mostly of plastic. When the handle broke,I learned from the manufacturer that they do not have replacement parts, nor do they fix it. They will only offer a reduced price on a new one. The price was what I would have paid for a new one anyway. The Combi was a good stroller for smooth surfaces, but don't be too rough on it.
WHAT WE LIKED
This stroller was the same width of the Savvy, which was a must for us, because we wanted a twin stroller that fit inside most doors. We have yet to have a problem getting into stores, buildings, etc. The stroller is light, pushes extremely easily, and is very sturdy.
We have not had problems yet with the design of the straps. I can see a rambunctious kid getting out of the shoulder straps easily, but ours seem content to ride along without a fight. We tried crossing the shoulder strap to the opposite side buckle, and found that this would definitely hold a child in their seat better. The straps cross each other at mid chest similar to a five point harness style, and slide over the opposite side buckle. I think if the kids are fighting that much to get out of the seat, though, let them walk and burn off some energy. They'll sit when they tire. The seats are comfortable for them.
This is an excellent jogging stroller, and perfect for an active family, as we try to be. You can take it over the roughest surfaces without any problem.
The console is nice. The storage is as good as any other stroller we have owned.
Some people have complained about having to tip the stroller back to turn. That may be the only drawback for us, and it is a small one. We considered purchasing the 5K model with the swivel wheel for easier turning, but it is wider, which would have made getting in doors more difficult.
Using it as an everyday stroller might become tedious if that is the only reason you purchased it. The length makes it a little tight in some crowded stores, but we usually use the carts anyway. The hand brake has been useless for us. I have tried adjusting it, but cannot seem to get it to grab tightly enough to stop quickly. That's probably more a statement about my mechanical skills than a brake problem. If I need to stop it, it is light enough to do without any problems without using the brake.
We have been using this stroller since December '05, and love it. We have a Suburban that it fits very nicely into the rear of when folded. My Toyota Camry would be a different story, but I could fit it in the trunk with the front wheel off (which is easy because of the quick release).
