So So MMORPG

I am revewing the Matrix Online, I have a subscription and I am currently a player of it, And I must say this game is awesome, But it has some flaws.


GRAPHICS

The graphics are so amazing, I'm amazed that there able to render an entire city without any lag, and it looks so beutiful too, That's becuase it's using the Jupiter engine, This has some advanced features like reflective water, Glass reflections and Hi-Res Texturing.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is like any other MMORPG, Run, Complete Missions, Level Up, Yawn, But in this game you get to have fights like in the Matrix, This game claims to have a changing storyline to make the game interesting, The recent storyline was not good at all but at least it gave us some info. The game requires you to aquire a key from a boss, So that you won't be attacked by agents when you arive in the new city, and hack it into the data node which is usually protected, You also have to find hardlines if you are to respawn after being killed, And there are no real concenquences to being killed execpt loosing all your code bits. You'll have an easy time leveling up, All you need is a Gun and a good aim, You can just stand in the elevator and shoot enemies, They won't even notice you, and the bad guys don't put up much fight, The AI will just try it's usual attacks and you beat him. The enemies you fight in the game are actually rankes, Next to the level is a rank. One means their easy, Two means their a challange and Three means it's a toughie. The ranks show how challanging that guy can be. You can go into constructs and explore to learn about the matrix, You can also earn valuable items in the constructs, You can go into clubs and hang out there for a while, They don't add anything to gameplay, There are also sidequests you can go on to earn extra money but that's all about it to the gameplay.

WEAPONS & ITEMS

You'll get to wield some guns in this game like an automatic rifle, semi-automatic pistol, pistol and uzi's. The guns are actually powered up by level and the higher level you get the higher level the guns are, Unfortunally you don't get to fire the guns, You only watch, The items in this game is varied, You get your health packs, health boosters, and health regenerators, But you also get Item Decompressers (To gain code bits) Lock Picks, Disquises, Disable Security Devices to disable Security Devices, Tactic Boosters to increase your stradegy and Clothing with Armor. There are many more, But I don't think I can remember them all.

MAPS

The maps are amazing, They perfectly recreate the Mega City perfectly, Though some buildings are recycled, The look is spot on, That's all there to it, Oh and the inside of the clubs are nice and have their own discint look.

MUSIC

They have music for their own worlds, There's one for International, Richland, Westview, and Downtown. They capture the feel of the world while mixing it up with some matrix, The song played during the mission is boring and uninteresting and the action songs don't have anything to do with the matrix (I.E. The Rock Song you hear.) The music is subpar.

SOUNDS

The sounds perfectly recreate the matrix perfectly, To the sound of the cars to the sound of someone dieing, The sound is amazing, There is also no voice acting in the game but there is voice acting in the Cutscenes, They are done by the real voice actors. The sounds are generic and offer nothing special.

FINAL VERDICT

This MMORPG is worth a look but not worth playing, This MMORPG is interesting for the first 7 days but then it's boring after that, This is worth a passing look but nothing else.
