The Singer 5050 provides an excellent mid-range sewing machine at a low-end price. Although not automatically threading like many top-of-the-line machines, the 5050 is incredibly easy to thread--moreso than even the underpowered little handheld stitchers advertised on TV. The thread tension and stitch widths are easily adjustable, providing for accurate, strong seams that don't snag or snap the thread during sewing.

'Easy Thread' - I don't think so!
